We are thrilled to be farming in gorgeous Sonoma County, California. The majority of our vineyards are located in the esteemed Russian River AVA with a few located in the Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountain region, and a single crown jewel sitting high in the Mayacamas range.

Although we do farm some traditionally spaced vineyards, we specialize in our 4-foot wide tractor rows with the vines spaced either 4 feet or a meter apart. The standard density in Bordeaux and Burgundy is meter-by-meter, or 10,000 plants per hectare.
Not all sites can be planted this way. Our spacing is carefully selected for determined, low vigor sites. We carefully consider terroir, using location, soil type topography, and climate to determine varietal type and spacing. The soil is extensively tested and a unique land preparation program is designed specifically for each site.
We order and hand select the highest quality plant material from some of the best-known sources in California. Most of these vines are heat-treated, protecting the vines from certain diseases. In an attempt to move towards organic farming, vines are planted with nutrient rich worm castings. Delicate young plants do need water, but we hope to dry farm these vineyards once mature.
European-style, vertical trellis systems are installed to direct shoot growth in an upright pattern exposing the fruit to increased sunlight and air circulation. This is especially important in our cool coastal region where sun exposure and aeration are a necessity.
Italian tractors provide a small, yet powerful presence in our narrow vine rows. We spray minimally and encourage our landowners to afford themselves the higher cost of using only organic materials. We are committed to an environmentally conscious program that will benefit our clients, our neighbors, and our workers. From planting to harvesting, our attention to detail is what sets us apart from the standard.
